How it works.
You call or use the quote form. We pass the job to a local pest control business that can price it. That business quotes you directly and is responsible for its own licence, insurance and workmanship. We don't charge you for the enquiry. Businesses we refer work to may pay us a referral fee.
What to check on any Victorian pest or termite quote.
- The licence. A Victorian operator applying pesticides commercially must hold a pest control licence issued by the Department of Health. Ask to see the photo licence, confirm it includes timber pests for any termite work, and check it on the Department of Health Pest Management Licence Register.
- The insurance. Ask for a certificate of currency for public liability.
- A written quote. For termite treatment it should state the measured perimeter in lineal metres, every excluded section by name, the product and its APVMA registration number, and the litres to be applied.
- The warranty in writing. Ask for the workmanship warranty length and the annual inspection price in year two. The product protection period comes from the APVMA label, and both normally need documented annual inspections to stay valid.
- The paperwork at the end. A treatment certificate showing the product, APVMA registration number, concentration, litres applied, treated metres, date, technician name and licence number, plus the site diagram and a durable notice in the meter box.
- The inspection report. A timber pest inspection should follow AS 3660.2, and a pre-purchase report should be prepared to AS 4349.3. Read the list of inaccessible areas first.
- Structural repairs. If termite damage needs structural repair, that is separate building work for a practitioner registered with the Building and Plumbing Commission (BPC, formerly the VBA). Check the registration with the BPC practitioner search.
